Described once, right every time
A task template describes a recurring task permanently: title, recurrence, assignment, points, proof, how-to. collabDoo creates the concrete tasks from it – today, tomorrow, next Saturday.
Recurrence
As often as needed
Every recurrence type from real life – not just “daily” and “weekly”.
Daily, weekdays, weekly
Feed the rabbits every morning by 8:00, bins on Tuesdays and Fridays, bathroom on Saturdays.
Every X days, weeks, months
Bed sheets every two weeks, descale the coffee machine every three months, test smoke detectors yearly, winter tyres seasonally.
After last completion
The water filter is due 90 days after the actual change – not rigidly every three calendar months.
Time window within the week
“Vacuum the living room: Mon–Thu, whenever”. The task stays visible the whole time and only becomes overdue after the window – with different points per weekday if you like.
Grace period, overdue & expiry
After the due time a grace period applies in minutes, hours or days, then reminders go out. Per task you decide what happens if it is not done: stays open (“the trash still has to go out”) or expires at the end of the day (“walk the dog” need not be done twice tomorrow). Adults see expired tasks in the overview under “Not done”.
School holidays, public holidays & vacation
Three settings per task: normal, not or only. “Pack the school bag” is skipped during the holidays, “practise maths” (as maths practice) only exists during the holidays, “set the table” not on vacation. School and public holidays for all 16 German states built in.
Several times a day
Medication in the morning before breakfast and in the evening after dinner: one task, two to six times per day, each with its own time, window and note. Each time is its own completion with points.
Group as
Ramipril, vitamin D and eye drops at 7:00 for grandma – three tasks, one card “Grandma’s medication (3)” on Today, in the widget and on the kitchen display. One tap: “All done”. One reminder instead of three.
Private
Your own things just for you: only the assignees and whoever created it see a private task – not even other admins, and never on the kitchen display. Points still count, only the title stays hidden.
Important tasks
For things that must not slip – medication, daycare pick-up: per task “as a time-sensitive notification” (gets through Focus mode), “nag until done” and “pin to the lock screen”. Individually or together.
One-off & ad hoc
“Take the parcel to the post office” without a template – create once, give to someone or offer for pick-up, done.
Routines
Several steps, one flow
A routine bundles related steps into one flow – with a fixed order, required steps, its own how-to per step and shared progress. Steps can be split across several people.

Medication
Morning before eating, evening after – one task
Until now that meant a separate task per dose. Now one is enough: several times a day with the times 7:00 “before breakfast” and 19:00 “after dinner”. Several medications at the same time become one card with “All done” via group as “Grandma’s medication”. With private only the assignees see it, and with important the app nags until it is done.

Important tasks
Some things must not slip
A normal reminder comes once and disappears among other notifications. For “give the dog its medicine” or “pick up from daycare” you choose per task how persistent the reminders are: as a time-sensitive notification that gets through Focus mode; nagging until done at your interval, at most as often as you want; or pinned to the lock screen as a Live Activity that only disappears with the tick.

Report a need
“Dishwasher running – unload in 3 hours”
On a task template you can define report options: “due now”, “bin full”, “out of food”. One tap – in the app or after scanning an NFC tag on the object – creates an extra task with the desired due time, assigned by the template’s rules. Every profile may report, kids included.
- At most one open reported task per template
- Those responsible are notified
- NFC tag right on the task: scan completes immediately (optional, with undo)
School holidays, public holidays & vacation
Maths instead of the school bag during the holidays
You choose the federal state in the household and enter your vacations as periods. On every task you then set normal, not or only per category – school holidays, public holidays, vacation. Daily tasks are simply skipped on such days; catch-up tasks like descaling or window cleaning move to the next suitable day. Changes apply immediately, the past stays. Step by step in the docs.

The past stays unchanged
Every concrete task carries a snapshot of its template: title, checklist, points. If you change the template, it only affects future tasks. What was done stays documented the way it was.
