Described once, right every time
A task template describes a recurring task permanently: title, recurrence, assignment, points, proof, how-to. collabDoo creates the concrete tasks from it – today, tomorrow, next Saturday.
Recurrence
As often as needed
Every recurrence type from real life – not just “daily” and “weekly”.
Daily, weekdays, weekly
Feed the rabbits every morning by 8:00, bins on Tuesdays and Fridays, bathroom on Saturdays.
Every X days, weeks, months
Bed sheets every two weeks, descale the coffee machine every three months, test smoke detectors yearly, winter tyres seasonally.
After last completion
The water filter is due 90 days after the actual change – not rigidly every three calendar months.
Time window within the week
“Vacuum the living room: Mon–Thu, whenever”. The task stays visible the whole time and only becomes overdue after the window – with different points per weekday if you like.
Grace period & overdue
After the due time a grace period applies in minutes, hours or days. Then the task is marked overdue, reminders go out and it can be offered for pick-up or expire.
One-off & ad hoc
“Take the parcel to the post office” without a template – create once, give to someone or offer for pick-up, done.
Routines
Several steps, one flow
A routine bundles related steps into one flow – with a fixed order, required steps, its own how-to per step and shared progress. Steps can be split across several people.

Report a need
“Dishwasher running – unload in 3 hours”
On a task template you can define report options: “due now”, “bin full”, “out of food”. One tap – in the app or after scanning an NFC tag on the object – creates an extra task with the desired due time, assigned by the template’s rules. Every profile may report, kids included.
- At most one open reported task per template
- Those responsible are notified
- NFC tag right on the task: scan completes immediately (optional, with undo)
Principle
The past stays unchanged
Every concrete task carries a snapshot of its template: title, checklist, points. If you change the template, it only affects future tasks. What was done stays documented the way it was.
