How do diamonds and the marketplace work?

Every point earned is also a diamond 💎. Points (stars ⭐) count for goals and badges and stay; diamonds are your balance to spend. This page shows how to trade, how parents set prices and how the marketplace works.

Part 1

Basics: stars and diamonds

If you complete a task worth 5 points, you get 5 stars and 5 diamonds. For tasks that need confirmation, both arrive only once a parent has confirmed.

Good to know

One-time reminder tasks kids create themselves earn 0 points and therefore 0 diamonds.

Part 2

Trading in

Everything that costs diamonds goes through the same dialog: the item large, below it the question whether you want to trade that many diamonds for it, and how many you will have left.

  1. Reward

Tab Goals → Rewards. For a reward with a price, tap Trade and confirm with Yes. If approval is set, a parent still confirms.

  2. Profile picture or background

Tap your profile picture at the top left → My profile → Change profile picture or Change for the background. New pictures show their price; Trade for 15 💎 trades for it. You keep what you trade for – switching back is free, and your first own pick is free.

  3. Greeting and animations

When sending a greeting, the cost line is at the bottom (“Costs 2 💎 · 84 diamonds left afterwards”). A greeting to the Kitchen board recipient costs more. Heart and thumbs are always free; stars, confetti, sun and high five you trade for once and keep.

  4. Not enough diamonds?

Then the dialog says “You need 14 more diamonds – finish a few tasks.” Nothing is deducted.

Part 3

Group pot

For bigger wishes everyone chips in together – as much as they like. Once the price is reached, the reward unlocks for the whole household.

  1. Create (parents)

Manage → Rewards → new reward or open an existing one, enter Price in diamonds (e.g. 300) and switch on Group pot. Save.

  2. Chip in

Under Goals → Rewards the pot shows the progress (“86 diamonds to go”) and who has chipped in. Choose Chip in, set the amount or All, confirm.

  3. Full

You cannot put in more than what is left. Once the pot is full, the reward unlocks (with parent confirmation if set) and a new round starts at 0.

Good to know

If a reward with a running pot is deleted, everyone gets their contributions for the current round back.

Part 4

Marketplace

In the marketplace every member offers something they will do for others – “do the laundry once”, “breakfast in bed” – and the others trade diamonds for it. Guests cannot trade.

  1. Post an offer

Goals → Marketplace → New offer. What do you offer? (title), symbol, Price in diamonds, optionally Description and Limited number with Quantity. Save.

  2. Trade

On someone else’s offer tap Trade and confirm with Yes. The diamonds are reserved; under Mine it says “Waiting for Anna”.

  3. Accept or decline

The offering person gets a notification “Marketplace: requests” and sees under Mine: “Max wants to trade for this – diamonds are reserved”. Accept = the diamonds move to them. Decline = they go back.

  4. Get it done

After accepting it says “Agreed with Max – still to do”. Once it is done, either person taps Done – that is just a reminder, the diamonds have already moved.

What happensDiamonds

Offer is deletedopen requests get them back
An admin cancels – even after acceptingback to you, deducted again from the offering person
Good to know

With Limited number the offer shows “2 left”; afterwards it says “Gone”. An offer can also be paused. Admins see all ongoing trades and can edit any offer.

Part 5

Prices & expiry (parents)

You set all prices per household: Manage → Household → Spending diamonds. 0 means free.

  1. Set expiry

In the same area: Diamonds expire after – default 365 days, 0 = never. Each diamond expires that many days after it came in; the oldest are always spent first. Stars and goals stay.

  2. Notice before expiry

If something expires within the next 14 days, the app shows: “12 diamonds expire on 14 Nov – treat yourself!”

Good to know

Everyone pays – adults too. If an admin changes someone else’s profile picture or background in Manage, it costs nothing. Spent diamonds still count towards shared goals.

Style & spells

Styling (ring, frame, celebration, sounds, app icon, sparkle for 30 days) and pranks cost diamonds too. How it works: style & spells.

Give diamonds

Diamonds (with a message) or a profile picture or background can be given to others – they arrive with a diamond shower and the person can say thanks. Guests cannot give gifts.

Also in web management

Prices and expiry can also be set in web management at team.collabdoo.app/pflege.
