Feature · Today & focus

What do I need to do now?

The Today view answers exactly this question – for each member individually. One task in focus with a big “Done”, below it everything else due today. The rules behind it stay in the background. And everyone chooses how they see it: playful or minimalist, as cards, as the simple view or as a classic to-do list.

View & style

Three views, two styles – everyone chooses for themselves

View: Standard (cards), Simple (for kids, one big card) or List (a classic to-do list like Apple’s Reminders). Style: Standard (playful) or Minimalist (calm, Liquid Glass, one accent colour, no confetti). Freely combinable, per profile, any time under More → Appearance.

Minimalist style

For adults who like it calm: soft background image, glass cards, no emojis, no celebration animations.

Standard view

Cards with pictures, focus task, goal rings – the playful style kids like.

List view

Smart lists Today · Scheduled · Assigned to me · Up for grabs, sections Overdue · Today · Later · On demand, round ticks, swipe, “+ New task”.

The view

One task in focus

Overdue first, then the next due task. Everything else lines up below.

Focus card

Title, due time, object and area, points – and three ways in: Done, how-to, details. Optionally with a picture so the card does not feel like a list.

Up for grabs

Tasks offered for pick-up – because someone is away or the task was set up that way. One tap and it is yours.

For me to confirm

Completions with four-eyes review land with those entitled – confirm or return with a note, points flow only afterwards.

Routines with progress

“Close the kitchen for the night” with five steps shows how far you are – even when the steps are split across several people.

Points & goal rings

Today, week, month and streak at a glance, below them the rings of personal, group and household goals.

Coming up

What is coming in the next few days, so nobody is surprised by Saturday.

System integration

Done – without opening the app

Widgets for the home and lock screen show the next task and the goal rings. “Done” works right in the widget; if the task needs a checklist or a photo, the app opens at the right spot.

  • Widgets small, medium, large and lock screen
  • Siri: “What’s on today?”, “complete task”, “take a task”
  • Live Activity for running routines and pinned important tasks
  • Reminders with “Done”, “In 15 min” and “In 1 h” right in the notification – on the Apple Watch too; quiet hours per member
  • Important tasks: time-sensitive, nag, pin to the lock screen

Offline

Works in the basement, too

The Today view is cached. Completions without reception go into a queue and are sent once the connection is back – in the right order, without double bookings.

  • Complete, take, hand over – all offline-capable
  • Freshness indicator so you know how current the data is

For kids

The simple view

Kids and guests see just two tabs: Today with one big focus card and My goals. Adults can switch the simple view on for themselves – on the kitchen tablet, say. After the first login the app asks once “How would you like to see collabDoo?”; later you change style and view under More → Appearance. More under kids & profiles and in the docs.
