Save, trade in, help out
After three completed tasks the monthly goal is still far away – kids need something they can save for now. That is why every point earned in collabDoo is also a diamond 💎. The stars ⭐ keep counting for goals and badges, the diamonds you may spend: on rewards, a new profile picture – or on “breakfast in bed” from big sister.

Stars stay, diamonds move
⭐ Stars = earned
What you earn with tasks counts for personal, group and household goals, for streaks and badges – forever. Spending takes nothing away from it.
💎 Diamonds = balance
Every point earned also lands as a diamond in your own balance. The app header shows both: points today and diamonds.
One trade dialog
Whatever you trade for: the item appears large, below it “Do you want to trade 35 diamonds for it?” and what is left afterwards – yes or no. If you are short, it says how many are missing.

What you can do with diamonds
Trade for rewards
Rewards get a price in diamonds: pick the dinner for 40 💎, stay up an hour longer for 100 💎. If you like, a parent confirms first.
Group pot
For the big thing everyone chips in as much as they like: “cinema trip for everyone – 214 of 300”. Once the price is reached the reward unlocks for everyone – and the next round begins.
Profile pictures & backgrounds
New profile pictures and backgrounds are traded for once and then belong to you – switching back is free. Your first own pick is free.
Greeting animations
Heart and thumbs are always free. Stars, confetti, sun and high five you trade for once and keep. Every greeting costs a few diamonds, one to the kitchen board a bit more.
Marketplace
Every member offers what they can do for others – “do the laundry once”, “walk the dog for you” – and the others trade their diamonds for it. More below.
Style & spells
Ring, frame or fireworks for your own app – or a harmless prank for the others, blockable with a mini game. More.
Give
Diamonds with a message or a profile picture as a gift – with a diamond shower on arrival.
Your prices
Defaults: greeting 2, greeting to the kitchen board 10, profile picture 15, background 15, animations 10 to 25 diamonds. All adjustable under Manage → Household, 0 = free.
Marketplace
Help for diamonds – within the family
Under Goals → Marketplace everyone posts offers: title, symbol, price, optionally a description and a limited number (“2 left”). Whoever wants to trade taps the offer and confirms. The diamonds are then reserved – only once the offering person accepts do they move to them. If they decline or do not answer for seven days, they come back.
- Everyone may offer, no approval needed – guests excepted
- Push to the offering person on a request, to you on accept or decline
- “Mine” shows ongoing and closed trades; “done” is just a reminder
- Admins can cancel any offer and any trade – the diamonds go back
- Traded diamonds are not stars: they never count for goals or badges
Expiry
Saving yes, hoarding no
So diamonds do not sit around forever, each one expires after an adjustable time – by default 365 days after it came in. The oldest are always spent first. Two weeks before, the app reminds you: “12 diamonds expire on 14 Nov – treat yourself!” Stars, goals and badges never expire.

- Applies to everything that comes in: earned, from the marketplace, refunded
Fair for everyone
Everyone pays – the grown-ups too
Diamonds work the same for every member, adults included. If an admin changes someone else’s picture in Manage, it costs nothing. And because spent diamonds still count towards shared goals, nobody loses anything by treating themselves. If you want no shop at all, set all prices to 0.
Style & spells
Look fancy – and get up to mischief
With diamonds you style your own app – ring, frame, celebration, sounds, app icon or sparkle, 30 days each. Or you put a spell on someone: their app turns black and white, tilts, rain pours in or a snake darts across the screen. Blocking works with a mini game, then you may cast one back. Just looks, never anonymous, can be switched off.
Gifts
Give diamonds and pictures
Diamonds can be given away – to your sister who is just short of her goal, with a message attached. Or you give someone a profile picture or background at the normal price; it then belongs to them for good. On arrival it rains diamonds, and one tap sends a thank-you back.
- A gift is a gift: stars and goals do not change
- Guests cannot give gifts
