Which Siri commands are there?
Six commands, no setup: read out today, complete a task, claim an offered task, report a need, “I did it” and your points. The name collabDoo has to be in the sentence — that is how Siri knows who you mean. Everything runs in the background: Siri answers, the app does not have to open.
Part 1

Siri knows the tasks that are open for you today (overdue, due today, offered). If the task requires proof — a mandatory checklist, photo, signature or reading — Siri says so and opens the app at the right place. Without a connection the app remembers the completion and sends it once you are back online.
The command marks the task without a fixed time as done right away — with points. If it needs confirmation (four-eyes principle), Siri says “awaiting confirmation”.
Part 2
Report a need — and say when yourself
On-demand tasks have no fixed time: the bin is full on Tuesday one week and on Friday the next. Whoever notices reports it — and decides when it should be due. This requires a task with report options (in the app: Pflege → Aufgabenbasen → section Bedarf melden).
- Just report
“Hey Siri, report a need for unload the dishwasher in collabDoo.” Then the time from the report option applies — “in 3 hours”, say. Siri answers: “Reported: ‘unload the dishwasher’ is due at 17:30.”
- With your own time
Add the time: “… in two hours in collabDoo”. Possible are right away and 1 to 5 hours. If Siri does not catch the time, it reports with the default — and in the Shortcuts app you can set the time for good (part 3).
- What happens then
collabDoo creates an extra task and distributes it by the template’s rules (fixed person, rotation, fair, up for grabs). The person in charge gets a notification with the time.
If you tap a report button in the app — on Heute, in the task detail or after an NFC scan —, collabDoo now asks “When?” first: the report option’s default with its time, and “in 1 to 5 hours” below. Only tapping a time reports; swiping away reports nothing.
There is at most one open report per task. Siri then says “There is already an open task for ‘…’”. And if the task was just completed, the template’s minimum pause applies — Siri says “… was just done”.
A report carries a time — so it is not queued offline and sent later. Without a connection Siri says so and does nothing.
Part 3
Your own phrases, buttons and automations
All six commands are also in Apple’s Shortcuts app. There you can give them your own words, fix their values and put them on the home screen or the Action button.
- Create a shortcut
Shortcuts app → + → Add action → search for “collabDoo”. There you will find Report a need, I did it, My points, Complete task, Claim task and What’s on today?.
- Fix the task and the time
In the Report a need action pick the task and, under When, “as set”, “right away” or “in 1 – 5 hours”. That turns a sentence into a one-tap command: “dishwasher is running”.
- Give it your own phrase
Tap the name at the top of the shortcut and call it “dishwasher is running”, say — then “Hey Siri, dishwasher is running” is enough. No “in collabDoo” needed.
- At the push of a button
You can put the same shortcut on the home screen, assign it to the Action button or trigger it by automation — “What’s on today?” every evening at 8 p.m., say.
Besides Siri there are the widgets (today, goals, lock screen) with a tick right on the task and the Live Activity for running routines. The same actions, without speaking.
Part 4
Siri does not get “collabDoo” — what helps
The name is new, and Siri likes to hear it as “collaboration” and then searches the web. That is the name’s fault, not yours. Three things help — the third one always.
- Pronounce it “collab doo”
Two words, stress on the first syllable, at the end of the sentence: “Hey Siri, report a need in collab doo.” collabDoo also accepts collabdu and team goals as its name.
- The name works at the start too
“Hey Siri, collab doo, report a need” works just as well as the name at the end. Sometimes Siri separates the name from the rest more reliably that way.
- The safe way: your own shortcut
Create a shortcut in the Shortcuts app (part 3) and name it the way you want to say it — “dishwasher is running”, “my points”, “bin is full”. Then “Hey Siri, dishwasher is running” is enough: no app name, no pronunciation risk, and the time is already set.
After installing, Siri only knows the commands once collabDoo has been started once. You can check them in Shortcuts → App Shortcuts → collabDoo: every phrase Siri understands is listed there.
Then the installed version does not know that command yet — “report a need”, “I did it” and the points arrived with the version from 22 September 2026. Update the app and open it once.
Part 5
Good to know
Always the active profile on this iPhone — points go there. So switch the profile first on a shared family iPhone. If nobody is signed in, Siri says: “Please sign in to collabDoo and pick a profile first.”
The phrases exist in both languages; Siri uses your iPhone’s language. Speak task names the way they are written in collabDoo.
Say the name as precisely as you can, or just say “Complete task in collabDoo” — then Siri asks and shows the list. After a fresh install the app has to be opened once before the commands appear in Siri.
Create or change tasks, photos and signatures as proof, switching profiles, redeeming rewards. That stays in the app — deliberately, because speech is no place for proof.
