How do I make the app calmer or a to-do list?

collabDoo has two axes that every person sets for themselves. The style determines how it looks: standard (playful, colourful) or minimalist (calm, glass, one accent colour). The view determines how tasks are arranged: standard (cards), simple (one big card, for kids) or list (classic to-do list). Freely combinable – tasks, points and rules stay the same.

Part 1

The question after the first login

After the first login (or after creating the household) the app shows the sheet “How would you like to see collabDoo?” once, with mini previews.

  1. Choose the style

Standard (like the kids’ view: musketeers, colourful tiles, confetti when done) or Minimalist (calm and plain, Liquid Glass).

  2. Choose the view

Standard (cards with focus task), Simple (one big card) or List (to-do list). Child and guest profiles do not see this choice – they are always in the simple view.

  3. “Later” is an answer too

Anyone who taps “Later” keeps standard and is not asked again.

Part 2

Change any time

  1. More → Appearance

Bottom right More (gear) → Appearance.

  2. Switch style and view

Both switches take effect immediately. The choice only applies to your profile – Anna can work minimalist with list, Max stays colourful and simple.

  3. Background to match

In the minimalist style a chosen background image lies blurred and slightly desaturated behind a thin veil; calm minimal images come first in the selection. “No background” remains possible.

Good to know

Admins can also set view and style for other profiles – the kitchen tablet to simple or grandma to list, say.

Part 3

The list view – as familiar as Apple’s Reminders

For anyone who prefers a classic to-do list. Header, points, heart and gear stay as in the other views; the focus card becomes slim.

  1. Smart lists at the top

Four tiles with counts: Today · Scheduled · Assigned to me · Up for grabs.

  2. List in sections

Overdue · Today · Later · On demand. Each row: round tick on the left, title, below it time · person · points · lock for private tasks; important tasks with “!” like Apple’s priority. Grouped tasks are indented like subtasks.

  3. Tick, tap, swipe

The tick completes immediately (short haptic, no celebration); if the task requires proof, the guided flow opens. Tapping the row opens the detail. Swipe left: later or skip; swipe right: take or hand over.

  4. “+ New task”

Last row of the list: type a title, Enter – an ad-hoc task for you, today. Details in the detail sheet. “On demand” tasks carry a megaphone button for reporting.

Part 4

The minimalist style – calm, not playful

What changes

Glass cards instead of colourful tiles, one accent colour, no confetti or particle celebrations (just a plain progress bar and short haptics), small profile pictures, restrained symbols instead of emojis, calmer typography with more white space. The greeting heart remains the only warm splash of colour.

What stays the same

Everything. Tasks, points, goals, greetings, widgets, display – only the presentation differs. Nicest in combination with the list view.

collabDoo · All for one. Done by all.

Colourful for the kids, calm for you.

Style and view per profile – same tasks, different presentation.
